Water-logged!

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard during a photo shoot. We started out near the water...like toes in, maybe an ankle. Two minutes later and these crazy kids are swimming, fully clothed, into the Atlantic! So, those nice formal beach pics quickly turned their course, and we rolled with it. As I was leaving the shoot, I wondered if maybe I could have directed them differently in the beginning, not gotten them so worked up....but then I remembered what Me Ra's discoverey workshop had taught me, about finding the true meaning behind a person, telling a story and making your subject feel like they have been heard. Marcus and Reagan are full of life. They are passionate and genuine. They will (literally) run circles around you and were more than willing to run full speed at me to give me a sopping wet hug. So, most of the portraits taken have wet, sandy hair, gritty arms and legs, and yes, even the wet white t-shirt look. But in the end, when you think about it, those are the pictures that define who Marcus and Reagan are. Those are the ones that show true emotion and essence...

So, Marcus and Reagan, here is your teaser pic from today's beach shoot! Thank you for showing me such a great time and for allowing me to see the world through your eyes for an hour or two!

  1. Stunning! I loooove this shot and can not wait for more! :) It looks like you did capture them as they are...I love that their hair isn't prefectly combed & their clothe aren't pressed & perfect...you captured children at their finest! Silly & completely unpredictable!
